PITTSBURGH — A Munhall volunteer firefighter is on a road to recovery after he fell from a second-story window while fighting a fire last week.
Even with two leg braces and confined to a wheelchair, Lt. Alex Scripp was in good spirits Monday at UPMC Mercy Hospital. The volunteer firefighter shattered his left knee, fractured his right kneecap and broke his femur in two places.
“He’s improving every day, considering the fall that he took,” said Jeff Scripp, Alex Scripp’s father. Scripp’s father told Channel 11 that he considers his son a hero. Alex Scripp was battling a house fire on Marion Street in Munhall last Friday when he slipped on ice and fell from a second story window.
