MCMINNVILLE, Ore. — Two dogs made a daring escape from a two-alarm apartment fire Monday evening.
KPTV reported that the dogs, two pit bulls trapped on a second floor deck, jumped off a balcony to survive the fire.
One of the dogs climbed up on the railings as firefighters worked to put out the flames, and then jumped to the ground below, according to the report. The other dog jumped after a firefighter broke out the deck railing and tore away fencing.
Both dogs survived and the Red Cross is helping out the families affected by the fire.
Investigators determined that unattended cooking started the fire, according to the report.
