SAN FRANCISCO — A San Francisco firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a two-alarm blaze early Thursday in the Mission District, authorities said.
The blaze was reported at a three-story residential building on the 1400 block of Stevenson Street about 6 a.m., said fire Capt. Niels Tangherlini.
The firefighter was hurt in a 10-foot fall from a loft space while battling the flames and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, authorities said. His name has not been released.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control shortly before 7:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The blaze displaced 20 adults and a baby, along with several of the residents’ pets, including five dogs, two snakes and a bird.
