COLMAR, France — Police in France helped rescue a 90-year-old woman from her burning apartment Tuesday.
Smoke from the woman’s kitchen fire, which she tried to put out herself at first, was visible from a nearby police station, according to Firegeezer. Officers responded immediately, using a ladder from a nearby work van to join a passing soldier who had begun to assist the victim.
Once rescued, the woman was found to be have smoke inhalation and was rushed to the hospital. Shortly after, fire crews removed another six victims from the building.
