LOWELL, Mass. ─ Footage from the scene of a fire in Massachusetts shows firefighters attempting to rescue a victim from the top floor of a burning apartment building on Sunday.
Two people were killed in the fire, and nine others were rescued by Lowell firefighters. Two firefighters were injured during rescue operations.
A video posted to YouTube show tense moments as firefighters on a balcony face flames pouring from windows and climb back onto an aerial ladder while being hit with streams from hose lines.
“It all went to hell in a minute,” Deputy Fire Chief Michael Donnelly told the Lowell Sun.
A second clip shows residents climbing from a window onto an aerial platform and down to the ground.
