GRESHAM, Ore. — Gresham Firefighter Spencer Tejedas remains in critical condition after being severely burned in a house fire back in May.

According to Gresham Fire Chief Scott Lewis, Tejedas’ injuries are the most serious injuries he has ever encountered.

“This is certainly the worst firefighter injury we’ve had in Gresham Fire Department in its history,” Lewis told FOX12 KPTV.

On May 30, Tejedas went into a house fire in southeast Portland thinking a child may have been trapped inside. Lewis said that conditions inside quickly changed, leading to a flashover.
