GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. — A former city fire chief died Sunday afternoon from injuries he suffered days earlier when his motorcycle struck the back of a parked delivery truck.
Douglas Edwards, who retired as chief in 2010, collided with a truck around 12:50 p.m. Friday on Spring Street, police said.
Edwards, 52, had just made a wide turn on his 2005 Suzuki motorcycle and was trying to get back into his lane when he struck the truck, police said. Edwards was flown to Albany Medical Center Hospital after the crash. He died at the hospital Sunday, police said.
