JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Several Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department firefighters are expected to receive written reprimands for breaking department policy during a fundraiser earlier this month.
Photos of the firefighters in their bunker gear dancing provocatively and in various states of undress surfaced shortly after the benefit event for a firefighter killed in a tree-cutting accident was held at a local sports bar.
The department launched an internal investigation last week and concluded that the firefighters broke policy by wearing their gear to an event without the fire chief’s permission, according to WJXT.
It is unclear how many employees will be receiving the reprimands, but those who do will have 10 days to appeal.
