Mo. firefighters told not to wear pink shirts

They wear the shirts and sell them to the public to raise money; firefighters say they think it’s not permitted because it has the union logo on it

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — Monarch firefighters are seeing red over a decision that prevents them from wearing pink.

The firefighters had planned to wear pink shirts throughout October to raise money to fight breast cancer, but the fire protection board said no to the plan.

The shirts are part of a program called “Pink Heals.” It goes on all over the country and in fire districts around our area. Monarch has done this the past four years, but this year no green light on the pink shirt while on duty and the firefighters think it’s because of politics.
