Okla. fire chief killed over job application

Agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are actively looking for the man who shot and killed Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan

MUSTANG, Okla. — A man upset over a fire department job application went to the house of an Oklahoma fire chief where he shot and killed the chief on Wednesday.

Nichols Hills Fire Chief Keith Bryan’s wife told police the man said, “I’m sorry. You should have given me the (expletive deleted) job,” before shooting her husband, reported KOCO.

The man may have been looking for Oklahoma City’s fire chief instead, according to police.

Chief Bryan’s wife told police the man gained access to the house in Mustang through an open garage door.

Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents say Chief Bryan was shot once in the head.

OSBI agents have a description of the shooter and his vehicle and are searching for him.

Both Nichols Hills and Oklahoma City Fire Departments are looking through employment application records to uncover any possible disgruntled applicants that may be among them.

The Nichols Hills Fire Department has not gone through a hiring process for quite some time, according to a fire official.
