DANVILLE, Ala. — A Morgan County volunteer firefighter became the subject of an emergency call this morning when the vehicle he was driving went into a retention pond near Danville.

Law enforcement officials said Ebenezer volunteer fireman Ryan McBride was not injured in the accident that occurred around 4:30 a.m. on Sharpley Road near South Johnson Chapel Road.

“We recovered his vehicle out of the pond,” Morgan County Rescue Squad Chief Danny Kelso said. “Every call has a victim or a person in need, and sometimes that’s people we know.”
