DEMAREST, N.J. — Ricky Morris said his last wish in life is to walk his daughter down the aisle when she gets married in August.
It’s unclear if he will live long enough to fulfill that wish. Morris, a Closter resident and 40-year veteran of the Demarest Volunteer Fire Department, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in December and remains hospitalized while undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
The 61-year-old Morris’ greatest hope to beat the cancer that has left him bedridden is a bone marrow transplant.
