HELENA, Mont. — A firefighter working on the now 748-acre Holter Complex fire north of Helena was hospitalized after an ATV accident Wednesday morning.
The injured firefighter was adjusting hoses in steep terrain at the time of the accident, said Crystal Beckman, fire information officer with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation. Though the injured firefighter was working alone, a firefighter/EMT working nearby was able to quickly provide emergency care.
Beckman declined to comment on the nature of the injuries or how the accident occurred, but she said the injured firefighter “is in stable and good condition and doing well at a medical facility in Helena.” Officials have not released the injured firefighter’s name.
