Idaho firefighter-paramedic mistakenly 'drafted' into NFL
The Oakland Raiders accidentally tweeted the firefighter during the NFL draft
IDAHO FALLS, IDAHO — A firefighter-paramedic was given an offer he almost couldn’t refuse when an NFL team accidentally announced they had drafted him.
Connor Cook, a firefighter-paramedic out of Idaho, was tagged in a series of tweets by the Oakland Raiders, informing him that he was one of their draft picks. What the Raiders didn’t know, though, was that he shares the same name as Michigan State University quarterback Connor Cook, who the team actually selected.
SBNation reported that Cook embraced the mix-up with humor, and posted a series of tweets in playful jest.
Cook even posted a video via Twitter expressing his gratitude and plans for the NFL season.
