RIVERVIEW, Mich. — A Mich. firefighter was found dead after participating in a training drill the day before.
Lt. John Grabowski, 49, a 24-year veteran of the Riverview Fire Department had been in training on Sunday and was on his way to his second job at a chemical company on Monday morning, where he was found collapsed in the parking lot, according to the U.S Fire Administration.
An emergency response team from his second employer performed CPR on Lt. Grabowski until he was transported to the hospital.
Even with advanced life support, efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and he died nearly one hour after being found unconscious in the parking lot. The cause of death is still unclear.
Funeral services are planned for Thursday through Saturday.
