GREENLAWN, N.Y. — An off-duty Greenlawn firefighter pulled a woman out of a burning car on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The firefighter, David Mordarski, was driving east on Pulaski Road when he saw a blue Ford Taurus in the middle of the road, First Assistant Chief Kurt Allen said.
Allen said the car apparently struck a utility pole about 4:30 p.m. and the male driver was outside of the vehicle when Mordarski, a seven-year firefighter, arrived.
