PHOENIX — An off-duty Phoenix firefighter is credited with saving a 3-year-old boy who nearly drowned in a resort pool Saturday.
The incident occurred at about 3:00 p.m. at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort near 16th St. and Northern Ave.
The off-duty firefighter saw the boy floating in the water and pulled him to safety, according Captain Jonathan Jacobs with the Phoenix Fire Department. The child was lifeless and not breathing and the off-duty firefighter began CPR.
