CLEVELAND — A firefighter gunned down in his driveway was laid to rest Monday afternoon.
More than a hundred firefighters lined up to say goodbye to Lt. William Walker. Many showed up from around the state to stand out in the pouring rain and salute a man who did so much to make Cleveland safer.
“I can’t help but think of Will and his smile and feel the warmth and support and love he gave everybody he met. He was truly a wonderful guy,” said Dr. Thomas Collins, Cleveland medical director. On the back of a historic fire truck, Walker took his final trip through the streets of Cleveland.
