HOUSTON — Toni Schneider wants to stay fit, but the one thing standing in between her and her health was the exercise bike she bought online.
“When it came it was in like 40 different pieces, and I opened that box and I thought, ‘No way,’” Schneider said.
Schneider was overwhelmed, and happened to see a KPRC 2 report about Fired Up Assemblers — a group of Houston-area firefighters who assemble furniture as a side job. Schneider thought she might try her local fire station for help, and when she arrived at the Porter Fire Department, she was warmly received.
