WASHINGTON — An apartment building in D.C. burned unattended for as long as 12 minutes after dispatchers sent firefighters to the wrong address.
Fox5 DC reported that the dispatcher sent crews miles away from the actual fire address. Several fire engines and trucks arrived on scene but there was no smoke or fire. Firefighters then asked the dispatcher for more information.
The 911 call center corrected the mistake and sent different trucks and engines to the correct address.
No one was injured in the fire, but four apartments were damaged or destroyed.
