Never stop learning

I recently addressed a recruit class of new firefighters. I told them to never stop learning. The fire service is an environment where technology, tactics, science and facts changing all the time.

Due to this ever-changing world, we need to keep ourselves abreast of these changes so that we are not left behind. Many firefighters stop learning once they complete their recruit training — this is a mistake. Learning is an ongoing process, and it applies to all.
