LYNCHBURG, Va. — Six firefighters were taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after a pumper truck overturned.

The Forest Volunteer Fire Department’s pumper truck went off the right side of the road around 6:30 a.m. and the driver over-corrected, crossing into both lanes, striking a fence in front of a restaurant before overturning, according to the report.

The fire truck was the only vehicle involved and the deputy chief could not comment on the speed of the truck at the time of the wreck, which remains under investigation, according to the report.
