DALLAS — Six people, including four Dallas firefighters, have been transported to a local hospital after an accident involving a fire truck and a cement mixer.
WFAA reported that all six have non-life-threatening injuries, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.
Evans said Truck 24 was headed to a structure fire when the incident occurred.
The cement mixer was knocked on its side onto a pickup truck, which was nearly crushed by the larger vehicle. The mixer came to rest with a pickup truck directly inbetween the mixer’s drum and cab.
Witnesses told Dallas Morning News reporters at the scene that the fire truck was driving with its lights and sirens activated when the cement truck tried to turn left in front of it.
Dallas police are investigating how the accident occurred.
