DC Fire after crash: ‘We can’t help you if we can’t get there’

The fire truck was struck after another vehicle failed to yield; no firefighters were injured

WASHINGTON — One person was seriously injured after a vehicle struck a fire truck that was en route to a fire call Monday.

D.C Fire and EMS were responding to a structure fire when another vehicle failed to yield to the rig, reported NBC Washington.

No firefighters were injured; the driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, reported the Washington Post.

Following the crash, which is under investigation, the department posted a photo on Twitter, captioned with, “We can’t help you if can’t get there.”
