Detroit fire truck crash caught on camera

By FireRescue1 Staff

DETROIT — A Detroit fire truck on an emergency call lost control and struck two cars Tuesday evening.

An investigation into what caused the incident – captured on a surveillance camera from a nearby store – is now under way by the Detroit Fire Department.

Two people from one of the parked cars that was struck by the apparatus were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No firefighters were injured.

The driver of the fire truck said afterward that the front brakes locked as he took a turn at an intersection, according to MyFoxDetroit.

It emerged later that the emergency call was a false alarm.

Bobby Cox, whose car was one of those struck by the fire truck, said, “I was just praying that he didn’t hit me.

“He come barreling around the corner and just slid right into the back of me.”
