Domino’s to deliver pizza, smoke alarms in fire truck

To promote Fire Prevention Week, randomly selected customers will get a free pizza if their smoke alarms are in working order

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Domino’s is celebrating Fire Prevention Week for the 10^th year in a row by delivering in a fire truck and handing out free pizza to customers with working smoke alarms.

PR Newswire reported that participating Domino’s stores across the country will team up with the National Fire Protection Association and local fire stations to spread fire safety awareness.

Randomly selected customers who order pizza Oct. 8-14 will have their pizza delivered via fire truck.

If the customer’s smoke alarm is in working order, their pizza will be free. If not, firefighters will either replace the batteries in the alarm or install a working one.

"The Fire Prevention Week program is a great way to educate customers about fire safety," Domino's spokesperson Jenny Fouracre said. "Every year, Domino's stores across the country look forward to teaming up with their local fire departments and the NFPA to spread fire safety messages in a fun and exciting way."

Today until 6 p.m. anyone who orders a Domino’s pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will install fully functioning alarms or replace the batteries. San Marcos Domino’s, located at 1290 Wonder World Drive, and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) teamed up with the San Marcos Fire Department on this project to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 9-15).
