GOSHEN, Ind. — A driver trying to cut through a fire scene in downtown Goshen nicked a fire truck and firefighter Tuesday morning.

The Goshen Fire Department sent several units to the Hawks Building along the Elkhart River in the downtown area around 10:30 a.m. for a report that the fire alarm was sounding. While firefighters were on the scene, a car driving by the scene hit a firefighter and brushed against a door on Rescue 1.

Firefighters told the driver to stop, but the car left the scene. It was described as a tan Chevrolet Malibu.

The firefighter was not injured and the fire truck received little or no damage.
