MIAMI — A man died Thursday after crashing into a fire truck that was on the scene of a hit-and-run.
Miami Herald reported that Lizardo Alvarez, 57, plunged into a Miami-Dade fire truck that was blocking off two lanes of traffic.
Florida Highway Patrol said his car rolled into the next lane, but Alvarez had already died.
“If this vehicle wasn’t in the position it was in, blocking the traffic for the oncoming, we could have had some fatalities out here with the firefighters,” Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Captain Ernie Jillson said.
