MARIETTA, Ga. — An investigation is underway after a fire truck was struck by a stray bullet Tuesday.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at an intersection and were told someone had fired at a Cobb County fire truck.
A bullet was found in the upper portion of the rear of the cab; it partially penetrated the interior, but remained in the frame.
Firefighters were inside the truck at the time, but were not injured, reported 11Alive. A Cobb County Fire Department spokesman told CBS46 that firefighters knew something happened, but didn’t realize the truck was struck by a bullet until they returned to their station.
