Firefighters and fire equipment manufacturers gathered in Indianapolis as they do each spring to show off and check out the latest and greatest in firefighting gear.
Here are a few photos from the show floor.
BullEx gave live demonstrations of its new fire-training tool. The panels, here configured as a bed, simulate fire behavior when the firefighter hits them with a hose stream.
BullEx also had its live fire training props on hand including an automobile and cooking grill.
Spartan introduced a multi-purpose aerial rig with a low price point for smaller-budget departments that might otherwise not be able to afford an aerial.
One of the quieter moments outside TheFireStore’s booth.
Draeger constructed a complicated maze that firefighters had to navigate with a blacked out mask; the purpose was to demonstrate the ease of use of the company’s SCBA.
Foxfire owner Zach Green shows off his illuminating SCBA identification plates. The plates attach to the harness rather than the bottle.
Pierce, which occupies a large portion of the football stadium, celebrated 100 years of making fire trucks with a display that highlighted its manufacturing process.
And since FDIC is not all work, here I am hanging out at the MSA booth with the Detroit firefighters who starred in the documentary Burn — great guys and a great movie.
