‘In God We Trust’ added to W.Va. fire trucks

Firefighters support adding the slogan, saying they want to get the rest of the county involved

BRAMWELL, W.Va. — A volunteer fire department recently added the phrase “In God We Trust” to their fire trucks during a fundraising event.

Bluefield Daily Telegraph reported that the decals were donated to the Bramwell Volunteer Fire Department.

“We think every department should have them on their trucks,” Lt. Steve Mitchell said. “We all love God. We want to be the first fire department involved in it and try to get the rest of these fire departments involved. If it weren’t for God, we wouldn’t be here. I hope we can get the rest of the county involved.”

Firefighter Ryan Perkins, who also attended the fundraising event, said he supported the addition of the slogan on the fire trucks.

“I think that it’s a big deal,” Perkins said. “We have to have somebody to trust when we go in a burning house.”

There were no reported objections to the decals.
