Indy firefighter recovering from parking lot crash

After firefighters left the scene at a hotel alarm run, the fire truck hit a parked car and several large trees before coming to a stop

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A firefighter is recovering in the hospital following a Sunday afternoon crash between a fire truck and car.

The Indy Star reported that the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The firefighter who was driving the truck was taken to a hospital for unknown injuries.

The firefighter, who was not identified, was alert and taking in the hospital, Lt. Larry Tracy of the Indianapolis Fire Department said.

Officials said the fire department was called to an alarm run in the parking lot of Courtyard by Marriott.

As they left, the fire truck hit a parked car and several large trees before coming to a stop, according to the report.
