TOPEKA, Kan. — Governing body members voted 10-0 to approve a $487,500 budget to buy a pumper truck for the Topeka Fire Department to replace an engine that was built in 1998 and has been in front-line service since 1999. The move will be financed by borrowing money through issuing general obligation bonds, with total debt service over 10 years estimated at $613,064.
