Woman dies after head-on collision with fire truck

Police said Angel Jones was driving faster than the speed limit when her car crossed into the oncoming lane toward a fire truck

CLEVELAND — A woman died Monday after crashing her car into a fire truck.

Cleveland.com reported that Angel Jones, 41, was driving over the 25 mph speed limit when she crossed into the oncoming lane, according to Cleveland police spokesperson Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia.

The woman’s car sped toward the fire truck as it was returning to the station and crashed into it head-on. Jones’ mother, Janice Waller, said Jones was on her way back to her new apartment when the crash occurred, and that she had recently been experiencing issues with her brakes.

A firefighter was taken to the hospital and officials said he was alert and talking, according to News 5 Cleveland.
