W.Va. fire truck involved in ice-related crash

It’s unclear if any firefighters were hurt; a freezing rain advisory has been issued

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Charleston fire truck crashed Friday morning due to black ice and freezing rain.

Charleston Gazette-Mail reported that the dangerous weather circumstances have resulted in numerous crashes in the area. A dispatcher said no firefighters had been transported to a hospital as of 9 a.m., but responders are still on scene.

Metro 911 dispatchers sent a notice asking drivers to use caution. The freezing rain advisory is in effect until 11 a.m.
