Wis. man accused of impersonating firefighter

The 20-year-old had emergency lights flashing and siren sounding in his truck; emergency equipment inside the truck was also stolen

WISN

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. — A Town of Summit man is arrested, accused of impersonating a firefighter complete with emergency lights and siren.

It was last Friday on busy Bluemound Road, when an Elm Grove police officer spotted a truck with its emergency lights flashing and siren sounding. Cars were pulling over to the shoulder, except the officer knew it wasn’t police, and there was no fire.

He followed the truck to a Walgreens, confronting the driver, 20-year-old Justin Pierson, who was wearing a radio on his shoulder and claimed he didn’t realize the lights and siren were on. The radio was stolen from Waukesha County Technical College, where Pierson was a student in the Fire Service training program. Prosecutors said emergency equipment inside the truck was stolen from WCTC as well.
