One vehicle-extrication technique is to marry two vehicles using a ratchet strap so that the two vehicles become one in terms of stabilization. When using the ratchet strap, hook one end to a solid object, such as a tire rim.
The rim will provide the needed anchor point and serve as a solid object for securing the cars together.
Whenever using this type of object, make sure the strap hook is secured to the top part of the rim, not the bottom.
A rim is cylindrical and could turn, which would expose the strap to slipping from its tension and loosening the marrying operation.
