Ky. firefighter, 18, killed in head-on collision

Kentucky volunteer Firefighter Robert Combs was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 72-year-old was airlifted to a hospital

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. — An 18-year-old volunteer firefighter was killed in a vehicle collision Sunday afternoon.

Robert Combs was pronounced dead at the scene after another driver,72, crossed the centerline of the road and collided head-on with Combs’ car, WNKY reported.

Combs served with the Chalybeate Volunteer Fire Department.

The other driver was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital. The crash is under investigation.
