GATLINBURG, Tenn. — A Detroit firefighter was visiting a welcome center at the end of a vacation when he saved a man who was having a heart attack.
Click on Detroit reported that Randy Manigualt was heading back home with his wife from a vacation in the Great Smoky Mountains when they stopped at a welcome center.
“I heard a scream outside,” Manigualt said.
Manigualt performed chest compressions on the man who was blue with no pulse. A vacationing nurse, who also works in Michigan, helped Manigualt by grabbing a defibrillator.
An ambulance transported the man to a hospital, who was upright within minutes of responders arriving.
“I think everyone should know CPR,” Manigualt said.
