BEREA, Ky. — The Berea Fire Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department lost one of their own Friday morning.
29-year-old Christopher Kerns was killed after his 2008 Chevy pickup truck collided with a CSX Freight Train just outside Mount Vernon.
Kerns works at both the Berea and Mount Vernon Fire Departments.
