Beautiful as they may be, fallen leaves on the roads can become a hazard for the fire service when they get wet. The fall season usually brings rain with it and this adds to the roadway becoming slippery.
When driving an fire apparatus on a roadway with wet leaves, be sure to drive extra careful. Wet leaves are not that different from ice on a road. They will cause a truck to slide if going too fast.
