Off-duty firefighter puts out bouncy house fire

The nearby firefighter put out the fire before crews arrived on scene; no one was injured

MOORHEAD, Minn. — A fast-thinking off-duty firefighter extinguished a fire at an inflatable bouncy house Sunday afternoon.

WDAY reported that the generator caught fire, but by the time firefighters arrived, the fire was already out.

The off-duty firefighter, who was nearby, stopped the flames from spreading and put it out very quickly. No one was in the bouncy house at the time and no injuries were reported.

“A person was able to get a fire extinguisher and safely extinguish the fire. Obviously, if things are big and out of control we don’t want you to try and extinguish it, we want you to get to a safe place,” Moorhead fire captain Dave Allen said.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire.
