CLINTON, N.J. — Flames gutted the Walgreens on Old Route 22 in the town of Clinton Sunday evening.
Several social media posts showed flames shooting from the roof of the building. The fire was reported at about 8:45 p.m.
Numerous firefighters were on scene at the building after 11 p.m., as smoke still pumped from the building. The store is at the end of a small strip of stores on the westbound side of the road.
Town officials could not immediately be reached for comment about the incident.
