SAN ANTONIO — Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas will address Fire-Rescue International (FRI) conference attendees next week in San Antonio, the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) announced on Wednesday.

“Secretary Mayorkas will have the opportunity to address the leaders of global fire and emergency services organizations who are leading emergency service response on the frontline every day,” said Chief Kenneth Stuebing, IAFC president. “It’s truly a privilege to have the secretary recognize our service by his visit with us at FRI 2022.”

Secretary Mayorkas is scheduled to address hundreds of fire and emergency medical service chiefs from around the world at the FRI general session on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 8:00 a.m.

As head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Secretary Mayorkas oversees FEMA and the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), two agencies with which the IAFC works hand-in-hand on a variety of fire, rescue, disaster response and recovery, and homeland security issues.
