SPOKANE, Wash. — Officials said a fire station on the lower South Hill appears to have been broken into around 1:45 a.m. Monday morning.
City of Spokane Fire Station 14 located at East 17th Avenue and South Ray Street had an apparent break-in sometime in the middle of the night. Officials said someone stole a firefighters protective gear, which included the helmet and jacket firefighters wear when responding to a fire.
A man said he was letting the suspect stay at his place, but when he kicked him out, he noticed some strange stuff was left behind. That stuff included the protective fire coat and his helmet.
