NEW YORK — An investment platform is stepping in to support the mental health of first responders.

ResponderStrong announced it has received a donation from Webull to help build a national behavioral health disaster response system. The funding will support infrastructure designed to aid firefighters, paramedics and other responders during and after disasters.

“We’re grateful to Webull for recognizing the importance of this work,” ResponderStrong President Dr. Sara Jahnke said. “Their support moves us closer to ensuring first responders get the resources they need when they need them most.”

This initiative builds on more than two decades of progress in responder behavioral health, work shaped in part by retired FDNY Captain Frank Leto. After 9/11, Leto helped develop programs that changed how the fire service supports members, laying the groundwork for broader access to behavioral health services.

ResponderStrong aims to extend that legacy by standardizing and expanding access to behavioral health resources for responders nationwide.

“Our nation’s first responders risk their lives for our safety, often at great cost to their mental health and well-being,” Webull CEO Anthony Denier said. “We are honored to support ResponderStrong as we mark the 24th Anniversary of the September 11 attacks. As a company committed to strengthening the communities where we live and work, we are proud to help ensure that the heroes who protect us have the resources and care they need.”

After decades of work in the firefighter counseling space, Leto shares what he’s learned about resilience, relationships and the healing power of doing good
