MACON COUNTY, Ga. — Four veterans who are Robins Air Force Base firefighters will celebrate the grand opening of their new business, Growler USA, next week.
The microbrew pub, which is at 1117 Ga. 96 in the Lake Joy Pavilion, will hold its official opening at 11 a.m. Dec. 8, according to a release. The business is at the intersection of U.S. 41.
For the event, Growler will be giving away T-shirts to the first 50 people, as well as free growlers during the day, glassware, a few gift cards and food specials. There will be 50-cent wings and half-off appetizers.
The pub is owned by Benjamin Rolph, Bryan O’Leary, Daniel Kelley and Danny Worthington, all of whom are Air Force veterans and who now work together as firefighters at Robins Air Force Base.
The pub will pour only “100 percent American-made craft beverages,” featuring draft selections from Georgia breweries including Macon Beer Co., Creature Comforts in Athens, Eagle Creek in Statesboro, Burnt Hickory in Kennesaw and Three Taverns in Decatur.
Besides beer, the business serves hard cider, mead, root beer, cold-pressed coffee and kombucha, a fermented tea drink. Growler USA also offers growlers-to-go for people who want to take their purchases home.
“Growler USA was the perfect opportunity for us,” Rolph said in the release. “It is a place where the community can come together to appreciate the best craft beers the area has to offer and overall support the work of the brewers in our region.”
The pub will offer a menu with a variety of “beer bites, salads and entrees.” Even though it’s a franchise, each Growler USA menu is customized for the local market.
Growler USA in Warner Robins is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday, and 12:30-9 p.m. Sunday.
Growler USA is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado, and has locations in Eugene, Oregon; Phoenix, Arizona; Charlotte, North Carolina; Austin, Texas; Katy, Texas; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Redmond, Washington.
