Ill. firefighter dies jogging near home

CAROL STREAM, Ill. — A firefighter who was to begin a new job Monday at the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District died during a weekend jog, officials said.

Anthony Reynolds, 27, was found unconscious by a passerby Saturday near his Carol Stream home.

He was taken to Central DuPage Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The DuPage County coroner’s office said Monday the death appears to be heart-related.

Reynolds is survived by his mother, father and a brother.

A wake will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Brust Funeral Home, 415 N. Gary Ave., Carol Stream.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until funeral services begin at 10 a.m at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1244 W. Army Trail Rd., Carol Stream.
