LOGANSPORT, Ind. — A northern Indiana city’s fire chief was hospitalized in critical condition after collapsing at the scene of a house fire Sunday.

Logansport Fire Chief Bob McMinn was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne soon after he collapsed Sunday night while outside the burning house.

Fire Capt. Randy Rife saw McMinn go down but didn’t know what caused him to collapse.

The house was destroyed in the fire, which a resident said started from a wood burning stove.
