Boy goes 400 miles to honor late firefighting great-grandfather

The boy donated his great-grandfather’s pocket watch to the firefighting museum that was once his station; he died in the line of duty

EDINBURGH, Scotland — A schoolboy has made a 400-mile pilgrimage to see where his great-grandfather was killed while working
as a fireman.

Cameron Hall, 11, travelled to Edinburgh from Kent to learn more about David Hall.

Hero firefighter David died, aged 45, in 1967 after a fall at the former fire station in Lauriston Place. The building is now a museum charting 400 years of firefighting.
